Production Tips and Tricks Podcast
Power Intro Samples via Music Radio Creative
We briefly mention soundalike jingles in this episode and refer to power intros as an example. A power intro is an acapella created to match a certain music music. The trick in there is you are selling an acapella and not the music which is very clear in our terms and conditions. Whenever you purchase music or audio make sure you do your research and you have the right to play the music.

Dave Dameshek Football Podcast
The Dave Dameshek Football Podcast and Blog is an officially produced NFL product so he has access to the Coaches, Players and new makers from all around the league. An admitted fan of football since at least last year Dave is actually the author and ring leader of some really great analysis. DD likes old school grimy football, tailgating indigestion and swapping TurDucken Recipes with John Madden. His 'N if L' series of videos are my favorites so far. The podcast will go into overdrive now that football has started but even in the off season he punches at least one hour long episode a week.

History Podcast Review, "The British History Podcast"
podcast covers it from the earliest formation of the islands through the middle ages. This is a great podcast that really should be listened to from the beginning.
The British History Podcast. Download it here.
"The British History Podcast is a chronological telling of the story of Britain. I started in the Ice Age, and I’ve been steadily moving forward ever since. The focus of this podcast is upon the human drama that is played out in history. Rather than providing a dry recount of dates and names, I am doing my best to provide a three dimensional image of what these people, places, and events were like. The people I’m speaking about were real flesh and blood individuals with dreams, fears, and flaws. And where the information is available, I intend to highlight those aspects for you. Recently the podcast has been featured on iTunes, was a Finalist for Best Educational Podcast in 2012 by The Podcast Awards, was recommended by the Portland Mercury and Medievalists.net, and is currently a contributor to Anglotopia.net."
Game of Thrones Podcast: "Cast Of Thrones"
"Cast of Thrones", a podcast dedicated to the world of Westros created by George RR Martin.
Small Business Entrepreneurship Podcast Review "StartUps"
The podcast is an extension of their Micropreneur Academy that helps both developers and non-techies go from zero to launch in 6 months.
My favorite bits are when the discuss the up and downs of using Virtual Assistants, contract developers and off site support services. If you have a great idea for an iPhone or Android app and are considering going it alone you need to check out a few episodes of "Start Ups For The Rest Of Us."
'Hardcore History", Dan Carlin gets a thumbs up.
This podcast is long and may take several sessions to get through but it is well worth an extra lap around the parking lot.....

Top Ten Podcasts on iTunes and why
If you are a budding podcast producer, with ambitions of replacing Howard Stern as the King of All Media, a you should pay attention to a few things on the list below. Traditional broadcast media has finally gotten the word that podcasting is the Bomb. They are steadily taking over most of the categories in iTunes with canned versions of their on-air broadcasts. Take heart though, the beauty of the internet is the fact that podcast listeners "Choose" what programs they subscribe, download and consume.
Networking:
With the exception of Adam Carolla everyone of these shows have the backing of a large media outlet. They leverage the power and prestige of their parent network's status as high quality content producers. Six of the top ten shows on iTunes are public radio properties. Carolla's podcast popularity stems from his comedy career, politically incorrectness and positioning as a Pirate Ship in a sea of mediocrity. Dennis Miller is another comedian with a sharp wit and something to say about our society that people like to hear.
Quality:
Every single one of these shows are professionally produced with excellent sound quality and offered in high bit-rate compression formats. They are not sitting in their bedroom closet recording Skype calls. They have great production values and a trained broadcast sound engineer bringing the show together.
Preparation:
Hint, even the three or four supposedly "Free Form" shows have producers, ADs, interns and show runners doing the grunt work. Somebody has to do the research, dig up phone numbers and arrange interviews. Everyone of these shows has a script, call sheet, live reads, compliance logs, etc... these all have to be maintained by someone.
Funding:
Each and every show listed below is recorded and produced with equipment and facilities costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Most of the hosts and talent is on a salary generated by the shows. Serving up the millions of weekly downloads costs thousands of dollars a month. So who pays these bills? Well NPR is publicly funded through tax deductible grants and donations. The rest sell advertising the same way broadcast media does. As a matter of fact ad agencies actually love podcast ads because they can track views, downloads, subscriptions for their clients. Broadcast media can really only guess.
Now for the Good, no Great News about average joe podcasting. By choosing the right niche, good content and providing a decent sound quality you can be heard.
Stay tuned for more insanely great insight and opinions about podcasts and podcasting culture here at PodcastBingo.net.
